Our Summerland Memorial Concert of 2016 raised the sum of £825 which we’re very pleased to donate once again to the Alder Hey Children’s Burns Unit. Pictured is Archie Veale, ambassador for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital who kindly received the cheque on their behalf. Archie received life saving treatment after developing septicaemia in 2014, and spent 5 months (including 2 weeks in an induced coma) in Alder Hey. He suffered multiple organ failure and faced a long recuperation but re-sat his GCE’s, completed his A levels and is now pursuing a career studying prosthetics at Salford University.
